GYC Office Manager (GYC Chair) Department: Parks and Recreation Hourly Rate: $17.21 Schedule: Monday – Thursday, approximately 10 hours per week (with some evenings and weekends) FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Type: Temporary (Roster) About Us The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department is a nationally accredited agency and four-time National Gold Medal Award winner for Parks and Recreation Excellence . About the Role The GYC Office Manager (GYC Chair) serves as both the student leader of the Greensboro Youth Council and the coordinator of day‑to‑day operations for the GYC office. This one‑year leadership role is responsible for guiding the Executive Board, supporting members, and ensuring the organization meets its goals and mission. Leadership (GYC Chair Responsibilities) Serve as the official spokesperson for the Greensboro Youth Council at community events, meetings, and interviews. Plan and lead monthly GYC meetings. Attend and actively participate in at least 80% of GYC projects, events, and trainings . Guide the Executive Board and members in achieving annual goals and initiatives. Administrative & Office Management Responsibilities Maintain the GYC office, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming workspace. Check and respond to voicemails and communications. Assign tasks and support volunteers to ensure productivity and engagement. Manage and update social media platforms to promote GYC programs and events. Conduct monthly inventory of office supplies and assist with basic administrative tasks. Minimum Qualifications Current high school student (rising junior or senior). At least one (1) year of experience as a member of the Greensboro Youth Council (must be listed on application). Strong written and verbal communication skills.
