Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: $85,120 - 134,400 per year Requirements:

• 8–12 years of progressive cloud and enterprise infrastructure engineering experience, including architecture and design ownership in production environments.
• Expert GCP architecture skills across Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, and IAM, including cloud-native high-availability design.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code expertise with Terraform and Ansible; experience with Puppet, Git, Bash, Python, and PowerShell for orchestration and automation.
• Strong Linux and Windows enterprise administration skills and experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization, Dell iDRAC, and DellOME.
• IAM design experience across operating systems and cloud environments, including Active Directory, Google IAM, and RBAC, with least-privilege enforcement.
• Experience with storage and database architecture, including retention, backup and restore, and audit logging.
• Strong technical documentation skills, including BRDs, TDDs, and runbooks; network engineering fundamentals to coordinate with network teams.
• Required certification: GCP Professional Cloud Architect.
• Strongly preferred certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer and GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
• Beneficial certifications: Red Hat RHCE, HashiCorp Terraform Associate or Professional, and ITIL Foundation.
• Familiarity with NetBox and programme governance tools and workflows is required for the role.

• Design and architect GCP environments for centralized security applications, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage retention policies, and VPC networking, and set standards for implementation engineers.
• Architect virtualized on-premises and cloud-hosted infrastructure for Linux and Windows enterprise operating systems.
• Design and own high-availability capabilities across physical and virtual infrastructure, including failover, hot- and cold-swap, clustering, geo-redundancy, and load balancing.
• Define infrastructure IAM across operating systems and cloud, virtual machine, and physical server environments, applying least-privilege and least-service principles.
• Design tiered storage and database architectures for retention, uptime, and auditability, including backup and restore and audit-logging strategies.
• Establish orchestration and configuration-management standards using Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Git, PowerShell, DellOME, and NetBox, and define Python and Bash automation patterns.
• Act as the primary engineering-tier escalation point for operations and sustainment when standard playbooks are insufficient.
• Monitor hardware and software lifecycles, lead end-of-life evaluations, and test product upgrades.
• Write baseline BRDs, TDDs, and runbooks, and manage initiatives through the programme PM Workflow in alignment with SLAs and KPIs.
• Mentor and guide L2 implementation engineers through design reviews and knowledge-transfer sessions.
