CDL Driver/Operator - Traveling - Requires Manual Endorsement

Overview The CDL Driver/Operator will be responsible for driving vacuum trucks, waterblast trucks, and other commercial vehicles to and from project sites across the company territories. The CDL Driver/Operator will also assist crews at the sites and will ensure that they are operating their vehicles and their tools in a safe manner. Responsibilities Drives and operates vacuum trucks, waterblast trucks, and other commercial vehicles to and from project sites. Obeys traffic laws and regulations. Maintains accurate driving logs and hours in compliance with company policy and DOT guidelines. Completes vehicle inspection reports to ensure vehicle and equipment are safe to operate before leaving sites and stays within DOT compliance. Immediately report all accidents, near misses, and injuries involving employees or others to the Safety Manager or Supervisors on site. Maintains equipment and vehicles, helps in operation of equipment, and understands the ability of the equipment and how to operate it in a safe manner. Connect and disconnect hoses, dump/unload materials, clean out truck tank after each use. Actively champions a positive workplace and safety culture. Performs various other duties and functions as required or assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Must have a commercial driver's license, Class B. Must be able to pass a motor vehicle report. Basic verbal and written communication skills and must be able to read and write in English. Basic interpersonal and customer service skills. Basic organizational skills and attention to detail. Working understanding of safety principles, practices, and procedures. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Personal Characteristics Follows directions of manager / lead / superintendent and clarifies responsibilities if needed. Ability to work independently. Physical Abilities Ability to lift, push, pull and move up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis. Ability to climb ladders and stairways regularly throughout the work shift. Ability to observe conditions and others as safety attendant staying alert while seated for long periods of time as needed. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other tools and equipment in a safe and controlled manner. Ability to perform inspections of site, tools, and equipment. Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement. Ability to follow safety protocol and to report any incident, unsafe act, or unsafe condition immediately to the site supervisor and safety manager.
