GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL- HEAD COACH

Girls Flag Football – Head Coach Rowan‑Salisbury Schools, South Rowan High School – China Grove, North Carolina. Starting Date: Immediately. Reports to The Athletic Director and Principal, who provide overall objectives and final evaluations. Supervises The coach, assistant coaches, and players. Position Type Part‑Time. Qualifications Ability to organize and supervise a total flag football program. Previous successful coaching and/or playing experience in flag football or football (preferred). Previous coaching experience (preferred). Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of flag football and ongoing study of new theories and practices. Strong role model for student‑athletes through instruction and actions. Understanding of Rowan‑Salisbury Schools and NCHSAA rules and guidelines. Completion of all coaching eligibility requirements in compliance with Rowan‑Salisbury Schools and the NCHSAA. General Responsibilities The success of athletic programs has a strong influence on the community’s image; balancing competitive performance with sportsmanship and mental health. Extended time commitments, injury risk, and due process responsibilities. Provides sufficient guidance for function and exercises common sense and good judgment. Duties and Responsibilities Thorough knowledge of all athletic policies approved by the Rowan‑Salisbury Schools Board of Education; responsible for implementing them with the team’s staff. Knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; consistently implements and interprets them for staff. Understands proper administrative chain of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Awareness of all public, staff, and departmental meetings requiring attendance. Staff Responsibilities Establish the basic philosophy, skills, and techniques to be taught by assistants. Plan conferences, clinics, and staff meetings to ensure staff awareness of the overall program. Train and inform staff; encourage professional growth through clinic attendance. Delegate specific duties, supervise implementation, and at season’s end analyze staff effectiveness and evaluate assistants. Maintain discipline, resolve grievances, and work to increase morale and cooperation. Perform any other duties assigned by the athletic director or principal. Administrative Duties Provide proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment and sites. Student Responsibilities Serve as a mentor for each athlete to develop and demonstrate trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Constant attention to a student athlete’s grades and conduct; provide assistance, guidance, and safeguards at all practices, games, and travel. Provide training rules, schedule, calendar, and unique sport regulations to each athlete and their parents. Follow injury, medical attention, and emergency policies. Direct student managers, assistants, and statisticians. Assist athletes in college or advanced educational selection. Finance, Facility and Equipment Accountable for all equipment; mark and identify before issuing or storing. Monitors equipment rooms and coaches’ offices; authorizes entry, issue, or requisition. Ensure athletes occupy authorized areas of the building at appropriate times. Examines locker rooms before and after practices and games, maintaining cleanliness and facility maintenance. Instills respect for equipment and school property among players. Public Relations Promote the sport within the school through recruitment of non‑athlete participants and outreach to news media, little league programs, or other feasible avenues. Maintain good public relations with news media, booster club, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.
