Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation

Associate AttorneyPosition OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our litigation team to handle professional liability, securities, and civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate will manage cases from intake through resolution, provide strong legal analysis and advocacy, and represent clients in FINRA arbitrations, mediations, hearings, and court proceedings. This role requires effective case management, strategic litigation planning, and close collaboration with partners, clients, and support staff to achieve favorable outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a diverse caseload of civil, securities, and professional liability matters from intake through resolution, including FINRA arbitrations and regulatory matters.Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, complaints, answers, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.Prepare for and participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials as needed.Develop and implement discovery strategies, supervise document review, prepare and defend depositions, and coordinate with expert witnesses.Draft and argue pretrial motions; prepare trial exhibits, witness outlines, and trial binders; assist in jury selection and trial presentation.Provide clients with practical, timely advice on dispute resolution, regulatory exposure, and risk mitigation strategies.Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and paralegals to meet deadlines, manage case budgets, and maintain client communication.Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff when appropriate and contribute to business development and client relationship efforts.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to practice in CA1+ years of litigation experience preferred; experience in professional liability, securities litigation, or FINRA matters strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience with civil litigation procedures, discovery, motions practice, hearings, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution.Strong legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills; ability to write clear, persuasive briefs and client communications.Familiarity with FINRA arbitration rules, securities regulatory frameworks, and professional liability defense strategies.Proven ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-service skills, with high attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.Prior experience in a law firm environment and some trial or arbitration experience preferred.Benefits 401(k)Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insuranceBonusGrowth PathMentorshipHybrid
