RN - Urgent Care

Job Summary Assist the physician and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and physician access. Function as the liaison between patients, staff, and physicians to maintain efficient patient flow and deliver direct patient care within the scope of licensure in accordance with SMG policy. Responsibilities Collect and accurately label lab specimens according to departmental guidelines. Prioritize patient care by implementing physician orders and nursing procedures. Ensure proper preparation for patient visits and prepare pertinent information needed for visits. Communicate problems, concerns, or issues to the Office Supervisor/Manager promptly. Verify patient identification before providing or documenting care. Employ Tasking in EHR appropriately and use it in a timely manner. Obtain vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse, height, and weight) accurately and document them in EHR. Administer injections according to protocol and document accurately. Apply telephone triage protocols and record them in EHR. Schedule appointments accurately according to department guidelines. Adhere to universal safety precautions when administering medications and disposing of medical waste. Review and update medication lists in EHR. Demonstrate understanding of prescription control and refill procedures. Document known allergies in EHR. Enter orders and schedule appointments in the Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR. Provide referrals and/or consult orders in PMS and EHR in a timely manner. Check and maintain logs for emergency equipment according to policy. Facilitate transition of care to UCC/Hospital when needed. Troubleshoot and report malfunctions of department‑specific equipment promptly. Assist in ordering and maintaining supplies as assigned. Demonstrate flexibility with various work schedules. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. New Jersey State Nursing License and BLS certification required. 0 – 1 year of experience preferred; 2‑4 years preferred. Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Capacity to perform diverse work assignments with high accuracy under time constraints. Problem‑solving, critical thinking, and priority‑setting skills. Experience with standard office equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred. Experience with Windows‑based technology preferred. Experience with patient care equipment preferred. Experience with EHR, Practice Management System, and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred. Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed. Pay $43.61 – $54.52 hourly, based on industry standards and varied factors such as experience and location.
