Are you a skilled CNC Machinist? If so, we have a great opportunity for you!

APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with a company in Livonia, MI looking to add a skilled CNC Lathe and Mill Machinists to set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, planning machining steps, performing accurate setups, and producing high-quality parts while following safety and quality standards. Sounds pretty great, right?

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC OD/ID grinding equipment with minimal supervision.
• Interpret routers, blueprints, sketches, setup sheets, and machining instructions.
• Select appropriate tooling, wheel grades, dressing frequency, speeds, and feeds.
• Remove metallic burrs using powered and non-powered abrasive tools.
• Blend surface finishes to meet engineering specifications.
• Perform detailed inspections using magnification equipment up to 30x.
• Set up and operate CNC gear hobbing and shaping equipment with minimal supervision.
• Machine precision gears and splines while maintaining tight tolerances as close as .0001".
• Operate CNC gear inspection equipment.
• Complete SPC documentation and production records accurately.
• Verify part quantities against job travelers.
• Make machine adjustments to maintain print specifications.

What we are looking for:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous CNC machining experience preferred, including machine setup and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CNC grinding, gear hobbing, shaping, or precision machining is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and manufacturing documentation.
• Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
