Position Overview Eligibility Specialist II is a professional position assigned to the Office of Economic Self‑Sufficiency. The role provides back‑up to the unit supervisor during day‑to‑day duties, including reviewing cases across the service delivery model, performing case reviews for unit employees, giving feedback to strengthen accuracy rates, and providing training and/or mentoring. The position requires handling a high volume of deadline‑driven work with the ability to prioritize and plan assignments while remaining flexible to change. Minimum Requirements At least 2 years of experience working in the Office of Economic Self‑Sufficiency determining eligibility for food stamps, Medicaid, and cash assistance as an Eligibility Specialist. Typical Duties Perform quality management system reviews as assigned. Review case reading errors with an Eligibility Self‑Sufficiency Specialist I and ensure corrections are completed accurately and timely. Review and analyze data from quality control and monitoring sources and provide training where needed. Follow established unit procedures to determine eligibility for public assistance benefits within required time frames, per federal and state laws and department policy. Maintain assigned work responsibilities by promptly actioning all case management activities including medical expense tracking, changes, sanctions, data‑exchange, alerts, ad‑hoc reports, and Medicaid file resolution. Identify cases of possible fraud or overpayment and refer to fraud/overpayment departments. Ensure electronic case records are documented thoroughly and properly per department procedures.
