Responsibilities As a Field Supervisor, you are responsible for leading daily construction work efforts on site to ensure that the team meets production objectives determined by management. Additionally, you will need to: Understand and implement MasTec Communications Group Health, Safety, and Environment Policies (Safety Manual). Understand and implement industry standards (OSHA, TIA10-48, NATE CTS, and ANSI). Ensure safety requirements at your sites and with your team. Oversee daily operations and the quality of work performed at assigned sites. Maintain daily documentation required for the site and team. Implement and follow up on work instructions provided by management. Collect all site-specific closeout documentation for your work effort. Upload closeout documentation to client interfaces. Coordinate with the client representative the site-related activities and maintain a good working relationship with the client representative. Provide leadership, guidance, and active training for all team members. Always keep equipment and vehicles in operational condition. Validate daily timesheets for management. Perform other assigned tasks. Install, route, secure, terminate, and test Cat6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling. Drill holes, pull cables, mount equipment, and prepare work sites using hand and power tools including drills, hammers, saws, and cable trays. Assist with fiber optic splicing, cable termination, testing, and troubleshooting in copper and fiber optic networks. Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and cabling diagrams to complete installations accurately. Transport, load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials at work sites. Climb ladders, work on drop ceilings, crawl spaces, and other construction environments, following all safety procedures. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems to ensure reliable network performance. Diagnose and resolve installation and connectivity problems in the field. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, completing projects within established deadlines.Qualifications About you: Safety is part of your daily routine. You have a history of completing work with a high level of quality. You have the ability to solve difficult problems and enjoy a practical approach to your work. You are looking for long-term projects. You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team. You have a high school diploma or GED, a technical degree is preferred. You have at least 5 years of industry experience. Possessing a WSA certification is an advantage. You must be at least 21 years old. You have demonstrated experience in construction skills, rigging, safety, and general industry knowledge. You possess certifications related to the job, such as First Aid, Safety, and Rescue. You have the ability to operate aerial lifts, passenger elevators, compact loaders, and aerial platform equipment. You must be able to read and interpret site plans, RFDS, construction drawings, and SOW. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to work up to 12 hours. You have the ability to identify and distinguish colors. You have more than 10 years of experience. You have OSHA 10 certification. You have experience with excavators. You have a valid driver’s license (applicants are subject to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and must meet company standards for a safe driving history; Class C is preferred). Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with a practical approach. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in active construction sites. Ability to work independently and as part of a team on long-term construction projects. Interest in developing within the telecommunications industry through acquiring skills in fiber optic splicing, Cat6 and coaxial cable termination, testing, and certification of cabling, and installation of network infrastructure.
