Field Operations Manager
Schedule: Daily start time is 6:30 am
Location/Travel Requirements: Heavy Travel: we cover all of Texas, as well as boardering state.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and hands-on  Field Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of our installation projects and field teams.

This position is responsible for providing leadership and accountability to Foremen and field personnel while ensuring projects are properly staffed, scheduled, executed, and completed safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader and problem solver who understands construction and installation operations, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicates effectively with both field and office teams, and takes ownership of results.

This is a leadership position with significant responsibility for the overall operational performance of the company's installation projects.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Provide direct leadership, guidance, and accountability to all Foremen and field personnel.
• Ensure Foremen effectively manage projects, schedules, crews, and jobsite expectations.
• Establish clear performance standards and hold team members accountable to company policies and procedures.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training field personnel.
• Develop and implement ongoing training programs to improve installation efficiency, safety, and craftsmanship.
• Foster a professional, respectful, accountable, and safety-driven company culture.
• Address performance issues and implement corrective action in coordination with ownership.

Project & Field Operations

• Oversee all active installation projects to ensure schedule adherence, quality control, and budget compliance.
• Ensure job documents, blueprints, specifications, submittals, and other required documentation are available for each project.
• Coordinate manpower allocation and job assignments to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Review project schedules daily and adjust labor resources as needed.
• Ensure projects are properly planned before mobilization, including materials, equipment, tools, manpower, and subcontractor coordination.
• Conduct routine jobsite visits to evaluate workmanship, safety, organization, productivity, and professionalism.
• Identify operational risks and develop corrective action plans.
• Monitor job progress reports, daily photo documentation, and communication logs from Foremen.
• Ensure change orders are properly documented, approved in writing, and communicated to the appropriate parties before additional work is performed.

Scheduling & Coordination

• Oversee the company-wide installation schedule in coordination with office personnel.
• Proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, manpower shortages, and timeline challenges.
• Coordinate with General Contractors, Owners, and MEP trades—including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire suppression—to ensure smooth project execution and final equipment connections.
• Attend required pre-construction, coordination, and jobsite meetings when necessary.
• Ensure meeting requirements and commitments are properly communicated and added to the company calendar.

Quality Control

• Maintain strict quality standards across all company installations.
• Ensure Foremen review blueprints, submittals, cut sheets, specifications, and other project documentation before installation.
• Verify installations meet manufacturer specifications, applicable local codes, and contract requirements.
• Identify and address installation deficiencies immediately.
• Implement corrective measures and preventative strategies to minimize rework and warranty callbacks.
• Protect and strengthen the company's reputation through consistent, high-quality workmanship.

Financial & Administrative Oversight

• Monitor project costs, including labor hours, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
• Review and approve project-related expenditures within established company guidelines.
• Ensure field receipts are properly documented, submitted, and coded.
• Assist ownership with analyzing profitability, job-cost reports, labor utilization, and operational performance metrics.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
• Ensure additional expenses, scope changes, and potential cost impacts are properly tracked and communicated.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce all OSHA, company, and General Contractor safety policies and requirements.
• Ensure jobsites remain clean, organized, and free of preventable hazards.
• Conduct routine safety reviews and enforce corrective action when violations occur.
• Maintain proper documentation related to incidents, injuries, inspections, and safety meetings.
• Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained in safe working condition.
• Stop work when necessary if safety conditions or quality standards are compromised.

Inventory, Equipment & Logistics

• Oversee company tools, vehicles, equipment, and warehouse organization.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of commonly used hardware and installation materials.
• Coordinate equipment and vehicle repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Establish systems for tracking tools and minimizing loss, damage, or misuse.
• Assist with procurement planning and material requirements for upcoming projects.
• Ensure field teams have the tools, equipment, and materials required to perform their work efficiently.

Communication & Reporting

• Maintain clear and consistent communication between ownership, office personnel, Foremen, subcontractors, General Contractors, and clients.
• Respond promptly to emails, project updates, scheduling issues, and field concerns.
• Review field communications and ensure important issues are escalated appropriately.
• Provide ownership with weekly operations updates, including:
• • Project status summaries
  • Labor utilization
  • Schedule projections
  • Budget and job-cost concerns
  • Safety concerns
  • Operational challenges
  • Corrective actions and outstanding issues
• Ensure problems are addressed promptly and communicated through resolution.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

• Proactively identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to field and office workflows.
• Develop, implement, and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Analyze recurring jobsite issues and develop preventative strategies.
• Improve installation processes, communication systems, documentation, and accountability.
• Support company growth through operational planning, process development, and scalability initiatives.

Authority & Accountability

The Field Operations Manager will have the authority, within company policies and in coordination with ownership, to:

• Adjust labor assignments and schedules.
• Reallocate field personnel based on project needs.
• Enforce performance and disciplinary standards.
• Require corrective action when safety, quality, productivity, or company standards are not being met.
• Halt work when safety or quality standards are compromised.
• Escalate significant operational, financial, safety, or personnel issues to ownership.

The Field Operations Manager is ultimately accountable for the  overall operational performance and successful execution of the company's installation projects.
