We are partnering with an early-stage life sciences investment firm to help them identify an experienced

Operating Partner

to support its investment strategy, portfolio company development, and strategic growth initiatives.

They are seeking a highly accomplished individual who brings a unique combination of venture capital investment experience, C-level operational leadership within early-stage biotech companies, and board-level advisory expertise.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of investing in, building, and advising early-stage biotechnology companies, with the ability to work closely with founders, executive leadership teams, and investors to drive strategic initiatives, facilitate fundraising, and create long-term portfolio value.

This individual will serve as a strategic partner to the investment team while working directly with portfolio companies to help navigate critical stages of company development.

Ideal Candidate Profile

8–10+ years of venture capital investment experience within biotechnology or life sciences, ideally at the Principal, Investment Director, Partner, or equivalent level.

Prior C-level operating experience within an early-stage, venture-backed biotechnology company.

Demonstrated experience serving on the Board of Directors of biotechnology companies, with meaningful involvement in corporate strategy, governance, financing, and executive leadership decisions.

Proven track record advising early-stage biotech founders and executive teams on company formation, fundraising, business development, and strategic growth.

Strong understanding of the biotech investment landscape, drug development process, and the challenges associated with building companies from inception through clinical development.

Experience evaluating investment opportunities, supporting due diligence, and guiding portfolio companies through key strategic and financial milestones.

Established network across the biotech venture capital ecosystem, pharmaceutical industry, and executive leadership community.

Ability to operate effectively at both the strategic and operational levels, providing high-level investment and board guidance while remaining hands-on with portfolio companies.

Successful track record supporting biotech fundraising, strategic partnerships, licensing transactions, or M&A.

Strong business development capabilities and a demonstrated ability to translate scientific innovation into compelling investment and commercial opportunities.

Experience building or scaling early-stage biotechnology companies.

Experience working across international biotech markets.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
