Senior Procurement Manager

About the Company

We are partnered with a global industrial manufacturer seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead procurement, materials management, inventory control, and logistics operations across multiple manufacturing facilities in the Tulsa area.

About the Role

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving material availability, supporting production operations, developing purchasing and materials teams, and helping integrate multiple business units under a more disciplined and standardized materials management model. This is not a corporate strategic sourcing role. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on manufacturing supply chain leader who understands how purchasing, inventory, warehouse operations, production planning, and supplier performance all work together to support plant performance. You'll be expected to spend time on the shop floor, work closely with operations leadership, and help solve day-to-day material flow challenges while also driving long-term process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement, materials management, inventory control, and logistics activities across multiple manufacturing operations.
• Manage and develop a team of buyers and materials professionals through coaching, accountability, and performance management.
• Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Production teams to ensure material availability supports customer commitments and production schedules.
• Drive supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Support sourcing, purchasing, supplier negotiations, and purchase order execution as needed.
• Improve inventory accuracy, inventory turns, material flow, and overall working capital performance.
• Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to resolve material shortages, inventory issues, and process inefficiencies.
• Ensure accurate execution of purchasing, receiving, inventory, and shipping transactions within ERP systems.
• Support shipping, receiving, logistics, and transportation activities.
• Standardize materials management processes across multiple business units and manufacturing operations.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, inventory performance, and operational efficiency.
• Serve as a hands-on leader who can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational execution.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of leadership experience within procurement, materials management, supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
• Progressive experience in a manufacturing, industrial, fabrication, engineered products, or heavy equipment environment.
• Strong background in inventory management, warehouse operations, material planning, and production support.
• Demonstrated success leading teams and developing employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, inventory control, and material flow.
• ERP/MRP experience required; JD Edwards (JDE) experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to operate both strategically and tactically while supporting day-to-day plant operations.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

• APICS, CPIM, CSCP, Lean, or Six Sigma certifications.
• Military leadership experience.
• Experience supporting multiple facilities, business units, or manufacturing operations.
• Background in industrial manufacturing, capital equipment, fabricated products, process equipment, or engineered-to-order environments.
