Intake Specialist for Adult Education and Literacy

The Intake Specialist for Adult Education and Literacy is responsible for the new student intake process and assessment for all Adult Education and Literacy programs. Campus Location: This position may be assigned to either the Henderson County Campus or the Transylvania County Campus, based on program needs and the applicant's preferred location.

Examples of Duties

• Schedule assessment sessions
• Assign student assessments in the assessment platform
• Administer paperwork and online or paper assessments
• Enter student information into the data management system
• Run and distribute monthly reports
• Run one morning and one evening assessment session per week
• Participate in state or locally mandated assessment trainings
• Maintain the technical competencies necessary to the job function
• Ensure compliance with policies of the National Reporting System, College, NC Community College System, and applicable State and Federal agencies

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Must be willing to work one evening per week

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalency.

Technology proficiency and data management skills required. All applicants must provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a work-place setting or environment.

• Can learn and effectively utilize data management systems

• Organized and efficient
• Readily acknowledge and correct mistakes
• Evaluate and improve on work processes
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must be dependable
• Can demonstrate proficiency with computer applications associated with the position
• Ability to work effectively in a team and with diverse populations
• Experience with assessment and data management preferred but will train

Additional Information

The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
