Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Work as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service. Check identification of guest to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages; politely refuse beverages to guests who are not of legal age. Responsible serve alcohol. Count drinks served and are aware of guest’s state of intoxication. Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes. Enter and complete customers’ orders on computer system, accepting different types of payment. Anticipate guest’s needs and follow the half-full rule when offering another drink; remain alert of Guest signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc.), and acknowledge guest so they know you will be right with them. Other projects and tasks may be delegated as needed. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Must be of legal age to serve alcohol. California Food Handlers card and ABC certification is required for all food service employees who prepare, store, and serve food and alcohol. A willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, and be familiar with standard drink recipes. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and work effectively within a sometimes-pressurized environment. High energy and strong verbal communication skills required.
