Facility Maintenance Technician

A Compounding Pharmacy Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining continuous facility and equipment operation, scheduling equipment calibration, and ensuring critical systems (hoods, balances, refrigerators, freezers, HVAC, and environmental monitoring) comply with USP and USP requirements. This role supports sterile compounding technicians by maintaining cleanroom environments, tools, and equipment. About the Role A Compounding Pharmacy Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining continuous facility and equipment operation, scheduling equipment calibration, and ensuring critical systems (hoods, balances, refrigerators, freezers, HVAC, and environmental monitoring) comply with USP and USP requirements. This role supports sterile compounding technicians by maintaining cleanroom environments, tools, and equipment. Responsibilities Sterile Environment Maintenance: Clean and sanitize compounding cleanrooms, laminar airflow workbenches (LAFWs), biological safety cabinets (BSCs), and other controlled areas in accordance with aseptic procedures. Equipment Repair: Maintain compounding equipment (balances, mixers, crimpers, labelers) and related monitoring systems to ensure accuracy and compliance. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed logs of cleaning, maintenance, calibration, and work orders for regulatory audits. Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections and routine tasks (filter changes, lubrication, belt/part replacement) to prevent equipment failures. Basic System Repairs: Diagnose and repair minor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation issues; escalate major repairs to vendors or facilities management as needed. Interior/Exterior Upkeep: Perform carpentry, drywall repair, painting, flooring work, equipment moves, and office furniture relocation. Emergency Response: Serve as a primary contact for facility emergencies (e.g., burst pipes, power outages); participate in on-call rotation as required. Compliance & Safety: Ensure building operations meet applicable health and safety standards; maintain detailed work logs and follow PPE and aseptic protocols. Qualifications High school diploma or GED Experience working in a healthcare, pharmacy environment or food environment Experience with power tools Valid driver’s license Experience operating pallet jacks or other material-handling equipment Can lift up to 40 pounds, climbing and being on your feet for extended periods of time Required Skills Familiarity with aseptic technique and sterile processes Knowledge of USP and USP guidelines Strong attention to detail, reliability, and problem-solving skills Mechanical aptitude and basic construction/handyperson abilities Ability to read and follow technical procedures and calibration protocols Preferred Skills Certification or training in HVAC, refrigeration, or instrumentation Previous experience in cleanroom maintenance or sterile compounding support #J-18808-Ljbffr
