Job Summary We are seeking a Facility Supervisor to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Seattle, Washington. The Facility Supervisor provides direct supervision of daily activities of Charles River Accelerator & Development Labs (CRADL) animal facilities, including management and training for employees in the Animal Care & Support series and liaison with clients to ensure satisfaction with technician performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following statements describe the general nature and level of work for this role. Supervise, directly and through others, the daily activities of employees conducting husbandry and support services. Responsible for personnel management activities such as mentorship, hiring, promotions, terminations, training & development, performance feedback, disciplinary actions, and annual performance and salary reviews. Plan, create, assign and monitor work schedules, including weekend, holiday and on‑call coverage. Monitor and analyze employee performance to ensure high quality animal care and support, timely reporting of health concerns and client needs. Conduct interviews, assist recruitment, investigate personnel problems, and respond to employees per company policies. Communicate with clients to address feedback and serve key clients by presenting site capabilities. Provide mentorship, leadership and motivation to all CRADL personnel and serve as a model of CRADL Core Values (CARE, LEAD, OWN, COLLABORATE). Monitor and document task completion and KPI deviations, submitting monthly reports to CRADL management. Participate in periodic meetings with CRL Operations employees. Investigate animal welfare concerns, propose and deliver mitigations, and coordinate animal welfare checks. Provide technical backup on dosing, injections, and collections as needed. Monitor acquisition, receipt, storage and issue of supplies and animals, generate work orders, and ensure documentation of all maintenance procedures. Oversee resolution of facility utilities, infrastructure, process equipment, and supply chain issues. Inspect animal housing systems, coordinate animal movement and assign housing locations. Participate in projections for equipment, supplies, and personnel and help develop policies and SOPs. Supervise use of all space, perform asset management, inventory tracking, place and receive orders, conduct quality assurance inspections, oversee adherence to CRADL procedures, maintain records, generate and submit reports, and participate in IACUC activities. Act as subject‑matter expert in animal husbandry and services, conduct train‑the‑trainer sessions, identify training needs, attend training sessions, deliver safety policies, maintain attendance, and perform all other related duties. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently moves about inside the facility, communicates, operates a computer, stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reaches with hands and arms. The employee frequently stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls and occasionally sits. The employee regularly lifts and/or moves items weighing up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally lifts and/or moves items weighing 100 pounds with assistance. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Minimum of four (4) years experience in a laboratory animal facility of which two (2) years is supervisory or lead technician experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in animal science or life sciences fields. Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) certification from AALAS or Certified Supervisor (CS) certification from ICPM. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $85,000K – $95,000K USD annually. Salaries vary within the range based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
