Assistant Cook - Lead

Assistant CookPay Range: $23-$26The Assistant Cook works under the direction of the Kitchen Manager to help prepare and serve meals for clients, staff, volunteers, and Advisory Board members. Responsibilities include food preparation, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist Kitchen Manager with food preparation and meal serviceHelp keep the dining room clean, organized, and ready for guestsMaintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen, storage areas, and food service spacesFollow safe food handling, hygiene, and sanitation practicesClean, sanitize, and stores dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipmentHelps maintain dishwashing equipment and treat with Delimer chemical twice a monthClean and sanitize sinks, counters, carts, racks, and other food service equipmentUse cleaning tools and products appropriately to care for kitchen equipmentKeep supplies, cookware, dishes, and utensils organized and properly storedMaintain beverage service equipment in a clean and sanitary conditionAssist with cleaning and maintaining refrigerators, freezers, and other cold storage areasHelp maintain clean work surfaces and floors throughout the dayCommunicate with food service and supply vendors as neededOther related duties as requiredEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent (required)Kitchen experience (required)Lead experience (preferred)Skills and Abilities:Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)Availability to work weekends and additional hours during the holiday season as neededAbility to take initiativeAble to maintain integrity and confidentialityTeam playerAble to meet and relate to the publicEquipment Used:Modern Office Equipment and Relevant SoftwarePhysical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
