Adjunct Pool - Instructors in Biology

Position Summary The Department of Biology at North Central College invites applications for adjunct teaching opportunities on a per-course basis. Courses are regularly available for the following areas: Introductory Cell Biology Lab 200-level Ecology Lab 200-level Genetics Lab Human Biology (lecture and lab for non‑majors) Qualifications Applicants should hold at least a master’s degree in biology or a closely related field and have experience teaching at the college level. A terminal degree is preferred. Responsibilities Adjunct instructors are required to: Deliver course content consistent with learning outcomes Contribute to the creation of assignments and other assessments Evaluate and grade student work Be available for office hours to support student success Employment Conditions Appointments are on a course‑by‑course basis. Positions are part‑time, non‑benefits eligible, fixed‑term, with no tenure. Contracts are renewable for one semester and the number of courses is contingent on unit needs, funding, and enrollment. Background check and official transcripts are required prior to employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of the College’s background screening process.
