• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
• Schedule: Part-time day and night shifts as needed; alternating schedule of 2 shifts one week and 3 shifts the next, with every other weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
• Orientation: First-day orientation must be attended on a Tuesday or Thursday

Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements

• Current New York State Nursing Assistant Certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, specifically AHA/RQI
• At least 1 year of long-term care or Certified Nursing Assistant experience
• Must have held the required nursing assistant certification for at least 1 year
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work assigned day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Ability to safely perform duties involving potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues

Long-Term Care CNA Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence and catheter care, toileting, turning, positioning, and skin care.
• Document resident care accurately and according to established protocols.
• Promote a safe, clean, and comfortable environment by responding promptly to call lights and alarms and following fall-prevention and safety procedures.
• Assist with meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and nourishment while honoring resident preferences and choices.
• Support restorative and maintenance needs, including range-of-motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and the use of assistive devices.
• Recognize and promptly report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or psychosocial status to the charge or supervising nurse.
• Report resident rights concerns, refusals, and other significant observations in a timely manner.
• Follow established care plans, policies, procedures, and infection-control practices.
