Assistant Branch Manager

Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Cave Springs - St. Peters, MO 63376 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 2 Year Degree Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Job Category: Banking Job Functions Assists the Branch Manager with the daily management of branch operations and associates to ensure sales, growth, and profit objectives. Assists the Branch Manager with the successful completion of all required branch reporting and ensures consistent adherence to operational procedures and regulations regarding account and lending functions. Maintains the smooth daily operations of the branch, including facilities operations, security controls, audits, opening/closing procedures, balancing, and supplies. Assists the Branch Manager with hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, and interpretation of credit union policies for branch associates; provides timely feedback and communicates staffing needs. Coaches, mentors, leads, and motivates branch associates to meet and exceed branch sales and production goals and contribute to overall credit union goals; provides ongoing training and mentoring to maximize member wallet opportunities. Monitors sales and service within the branch to ensure sound business practices, exceptional service for members, and professional development of branch staff; offers coaching to strengthen product knowledge and member needs identification. Assists members with account and loan needs and inquiries, ensuring a consistent optimal member experience and meeting work quality standards for paperwork and system entry. Assists members with complaint resolution and maintains prescribed security controls to protect the facility, notifying relevant parties of irregularities immediately. Complies with credit union policies and government regulations by securely maintaining member information and records, coordinating with audit, compliance, credit resolutions, and quality assurance. Performs initial quality control assessments on loan and account documentation of own work and documents prepared for member signature elsewhere; coaches underperforming associates and resolves issues. Assists the Member Care Center with answering calls during periods of high call volume. Participates in departmental, branch, and credit union projects and assists with system testing as needed. Supports the growth of the branch and credit union through business development and community involvement; represents the branch in relationships with members, community organizations, and vendors. Performs other tasks or special project work as assigned. In the absence of the Branch Manager or as required, assumes responsibilities of that position, including supervision of branch employees and oversight of member complaints and overall branch safety. Qualifications Exceptional knowledge of banking/credit union operations and sales leadership. Strong time‑management skills with the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and direct staff to meet member volume demands. Excellent communication skills, expressing themselves honestly, positively, and professionally in both oral and written communication. Professional interpersonal skills, interacting positively with members and staff at all levels to cultivate relationships and meet member needs. Dependability and a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for branch sales and operations. Leadership ability to motivate staff and cultivate a collaborative organization by communicating credit union strategies, mission, and vision clearly. Education and Experience Two to four years of financial institution experience, preferably in a credit union; a college degree in a business‑related field or equivalent of three to five years of financial institution experience. Strong curriculum of specific credit union and general business courses in a continuing education setting; attendance of industry seminars, workshops, and conventions as appropriate. One to two years of supervisory experience is desirable but not required if closely supervised and assisted by the Branch Manager. Physical Requirements Occasional stationary work, standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Occasional travel or moving between office locations or departments. Occasional lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds. Constant communication via verbal, email, and chat; consistent use of keyboard and mouse or other electronic devices.
