The Enrollment Counselor will actively participate in efforts to recruit and admit a diverse and talented student body. This role involves communicating with prospective students and their families, scheduling and attending middle school and high school visits and other recruitment events, and developing and maintaining relationships with school counselors and other educators.

Responsibilities of the Enrollment Counselor:

• Manage assigned territory within the state to recruit highly talented and competitive students to GSSM's residential program, to include: building and maintaining relationships with key high school counselors; extensive (mostly seasonal) travel within an assigned SC territory to include middle and high school visits and programs; outreach and relationship-building activities (via CRM, in-person communications, phone, email, written correspondence, and virtual presentations) with prospective students and their families throughout the recruitment and admissions cycle. Represent GSSM at professional conferences and community events based on strategic planning using historical data.
• Utilize the CRM system to the fullest capacity in order to maintain student inquiries and contact records to provide timely communications to prospective students, parents, applicants and school counselors.
• Guide students through the application process, including essay writing and submissions of required documents. Maintain regular contact with applicants up through application completion. Review and evaluate applications to determine eligibility and fit for admission.
• Participate in and assist in planning on-campus recruitment events, including but not limited to: Preview Days, Interview Day, New Student Orientation information sessions, and campus tours.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and previous experience in college admissions, counseling, education, or related field. Additional Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Willingness to travel within South Carolina for recruitment purposes.
• Some overnight stay is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree and proficiency in using admissions software, CRM systems, and other relevant technologies.
• Competence in utilizing digital tools for virtual recruitment events and online communications.
