Radiology Technologist PRN

Job Summary The Staff Radiologic Technologist (Radiology Technician PRN) is responsible for taking radiographs in accordance with the standards set by the ARRT. The technologist demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, patient care, positioning, radiographic sciences, radiation protection, and specialized techniques, and maintains professional judgment and conduct in line with the ARRT Code of Ethics and St. David’s HealthCare values. Responsibilities Perform all diagnostic radiographic procedures, including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable radiographs. Select and operate radiography equipment, imaging and associated accessories to successfully perform procedures. Interpret and implement referring physicians’ orders. Practice safe radiation protection following hospital guidelines. Assist physicians and radiologists in sterile technique procedures. Prepare and administer radiopaque contrast media needed for radiologic exams. Assess patient’s condition prior to and during all radiologic procedures. Provide optimum patient care during exams. Corroborate patient’s clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented for licensed practitioners. Perform other department‑related duties as needed. Perform minor equipment repairs and upkeep and communicate problems to supervisor or log. Qualifications Education Graduate of an American Medical Association‑approved program in Radiologic Technology or meet requirements for Texas certification of Medical Radiologic Technologist on an education‑equivalent basis. Experience Entry‑level graduate Radiologic technologist accepted depending on shift and technical responsibility. Licenses and Certifications Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist. ARRT (R) Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Basic Cardiac Life Support or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
