Position Description Summary/Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Dean of Students, theStudent Support Coordinator is a full-t i me posit i on responsiblef or m a n a g ing the d a i l y o p er a tions of t he Ann B . This role includes supporting the universi t y ’s L aptop L o a n er Pr o g ra m, T ransitional Housing Assistance, Student Eme rge n c yRelief F und, a nd ot h er s t udent a f f airs initiatives. This position supports retentioninitiatives by creating a one-stop concept for studentsupport. Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities (The essential functions or duties listed below are intendedonly as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Oversee daily operations of the Co-op, ensuring students,faculty, and staff receive high-quality support. Manage inventory, including placing food and supply orders,stocking items, and adhering to Supporting Wellness at Pantries(SWAP) guidelines. Cultivate relationships with partners such as ConnecticutFoodshare, ShopRite, Stop & Shop, and Highland Park Market tosecure resources and donations Plan and execute events such as the annual Turkey Drive andother outreach initiatives. Supervise and mentor Co-op staff, including work-study studentsand interns, to ensure efficient and customer-focusedoperations. Provide one-on-one case management to assist students withacademic, financial, housing, and personal challenges. Administer the Laptop Loaner Program, ensuring equitabledistribution and accurate tracking of equipment. Oversee Transitional Housing Assistance for studentsexperiencing housing insecurity, including coordination with localhousing partners Manage the Student Emergency Relief Fund by evaluatingapplications and ensuring timely distribution of aid. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community organizations toconnect students to internal and external resources. Develop and deliver workshops or programs focused on topicssuch as financial literacy, housing stability, and accessing campusresources. Create innovative strategies to enhance awareness andaccessibility of Co-op and Case Management services. Maintain accurate records for case management, Co-op usage, andprogram outcomes, providing regular reports to the AssistantDean. Serve as a liaison between students and other universitydepartments to resolve barriers to success. Represent the Co-op and student support at campus and communityevents, promoting services and fostering partnerships. Strengthen collaboration with local organizations to expand therange of resources available to students. Actively engage in professional development to stay informed ofbest practices in student support services and resourcemanagement. Other Functions Performs similar or related work as required, directed or assituation permits. Continues professional development and training; keeps currentwith trends. Assists other department staff as needed to promote a teameffort. Knowledge, Ability and Skill Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering bestpractices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion,and build an environment in which all members of the Universitycommunity are treated with respect and dignity. Strong organizational and operational management skills, withexperience supervising staff or volunteers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with theability to work with diverse populations. Proven ability to handle sensitive information withprofessionalism and confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, virtual engagementplatforms and data management systems. Knowledge of community resources, housing assistance, andstudent support programs. Qualifications Minimum Required Qualifications Education, Training and Experience: Masters degree in social work, counseling, higher education, ora related field (Bachelor's required, Master’s preferred). Minimum of 3 years of experience in case management, studentaffairs, or related roles within higher education or nonprofitsectors. Experience with food pantry operations, SWAP guidelines, ornon-profit resource programs (preferred). Familiarity with case management software or studentinformation systems (preferred). Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion(preferred).
