Workforce Development Training Coordinator-SUD

Job Overview Under the direction of the Director of Learning and Development, the Workforce Development Training Coordinator‑SUD is responsible for the implementation of clinical onboarding, training, and support to new workforce members in clinical programs as well as ongoing training and support for tenured staff. The coordinator instructs on curricula, course outlines, and training materials based on regulatory requirements, program contracts, and evidence‑based models of care, including trauma‑informed and CLAS strategies. They serve as the subject matter expert in training for the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program. Responsibilities & Duties Develop and deliver training sessions that accommodate a wide range of learning styles, using modern methodologies (in‑person groups, individual sessions, and e‑learning). Provide trainings on substance use, crisis response, and intensive services, and support center‑wide workforce engagement, recruitment, and retention activities. Maintain an up‑to‑date spreadsheet for CCBHC measures that records the number of SUD‑specific trainings delivered to individual learners. Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to ensure successful onboarding and promote workforce development. Provide learning strategies aligned with policy, procedure, compliance, contract, and state standards. Use the Learning Management System (Relias) for course creation, enrollment, and completion tracking. Serve as a backup trainer and receive cross‑training in multiple programs for versatility. Deliver trainings in group, classroom, and real‑time field settings, and provide one‑on‑one support to staff and clients. Drive effective training, quality services, and workforce support across divisions. Other duties as assigned to promote training effectiveness and workforce support. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field from a four‑year university. Bachelor’s degree meets Texas Administrative Code requirements for a Qualified Mental Health Professional‑Clinical Services (QMHP‑CS). Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work preferred. Texas licensure (LCDC, LPC, LCSW, LMFT) in good standing preferred. At least two years of clinical experience in a community mental health setting providing services to individuals with serious mental illness and substance use disorders. At least one year of experience in program training, supervision, and/or support preferred. Current Texas driver’s license. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Extensive knowledge of Texas Administrative Code, UM Guidelines, Medicaid Billing Rules, CCBHC model of care, HIPAA, and federal and state standards. Knowledge of the DSM diagnostic criteria for substance use disorder. Proficiency with the Learning Management System Relias, including course creation, enrollment, and tracking. Ability to adapt training based on diverse learning methodologies. Strong communication skills, written and oral. Ability to teach, organize, and implement training materials. Ability to support others in handling frustration and meet organizational workload demands. Strong problem‑solving and prioritization skills. Ability to work independently, organize work efficiently, and maintain fidelity of training material. Demonstrate person‑centered care and trauma‑informed presence with cultural sensitivity. Ability to engage workforce creatively while maintaining training fidelity. Flexibility to work across multiple divisions; openness to additional certifications (ASIST, MHFA, YMHFA). Additional Requirements Must have current Texas driver’s license for transportation to and from internal or external trainings.
