Work Environment
This position is located onsite within our hospital facility in Los Angeles. You will be collaborating directly with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other specialized healthcare professionals in an interactive rehabilitation setting. Our environment is driven by a team approach to patient care, where interdisciplinary collaboration is key to achieving optimal patient outcomes. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility in hours to meet patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Physical Therapist in executing personalized treatment plans that aim to enhance patients’ mobility and functional abilities.
- Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and stretches to promote recovery and manage pain effectively.
- Educating patients on proper body mechanics and providing home exercise programs to facilitate ongoing improvement.
- Administering physiological modalities under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound therapy, and heat/cold applications.
- Monitoring patient progress in real-time, documenting improvements in range of motion, strength, and overall functional abilities.
- Preparing treatment areas and ensuring that necessary equipment and supplies are organized for efficient therapy sessions.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure cohesive and comprehensive patient care.
- Providing emotional support and encouragement during the rehabilitation process, fostering an uplifting atmosphere for recovery.
- Adhering strictly to ethical standards and maintaining patient confidentiality throughout the treatment process.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will be working predominantly with a diverse patient population ranging from young athletes recovering from sports injuries to elderly individuals undergoing rehabilitation after surgeries. Your compassionate, patient-centered approach will be crucial in addressing the unique physical therapy needs of each patient, enabling them to reclaim their mobility and improve their physical health.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- An Associate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy interventions.
- Proficiency in implementing therapeutic modalities and exercises under a Physical Therapist's direction.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
- A compassionate and patient-focused attitude towards care, with a strong commitment to helping patients meet their rehabilitation goals.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Preferred Experience
While a strong foundation is essential, candidates with prior experience in a rehabilitation setting or specialty training in areas such as orthopedic or neurological rehabilitation will be favored. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is also beneficial for documenting patient progress accurately.
Compensation and Benefits
