Business Analyst

Position: Business Analyst III – Market Risk Analytics Location: Jesey City, NJ (07310) - Hybrid (3 from office 2 from home) Duration: 4 months Pay Range: $45 - $48 Schedule: 40 Hours/Week Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst III to support Market Risk initiatives through data governance, financial data analysis, and risk model enhancements. This role will work closely with Market Risk, Technology, and Business teams to support the implementation, testing, and optimization of Value at Risk (VaR), Stressed Value at Risk (SVaR), and other market risk models. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience working with large financial datasets, and proficiency in SQL and Python. Key Responsibilities Lead data governance for historical market data supporting VaR, SVaR, and other market risk calculations. Analyze large financial datasets to ensure data quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with Market Risk, Technology, and Business teams to enhance risk analytics and reporting. Support the implementation, testing, validation, and deployment of market risk models and system enhancements. Develop business and system requirements for risk applications and data processes. Perform portfolio impact analysis related to model enhancements, process improvements, and regulatory changes. Utilize SQL and Python to extract, analyze, and manipulate financial data. Create reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations. Ensure compliance with internal governance and regulatory standards while supporting scalable risk management solutions. Required Qualifications Master's degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline. 10+ years of experience in Market Risk, Risk Analytics, Financial Data Analysis, or a related field. Strong knowledge of VaR, SVaR, market risk methodologies, and financial market data. Advanced SQL and working knowledge of Python. Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Excellent analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with financial risk management systems and enterprise risk platforms. Knowledge of financial products, capital markets, trading activities, and market risk regulations. Experience with model validation, testing, implementation, and quantitative modeling. Background in enterprise banking or financial services environments.
