Loan Support Specialist I

About the Role: The Loan Support Specialist I is responsible for servicing consumer, small business, SBA and commercial loans within a high-volume environment and established deadlines. The role handles moderately complex assignments requiring independent action, initiative in problem resolution, and the development of recommendations. Tasks include production responsibilities involving loan documentation, regulations, policies, and procedures. The specialist interacts with bank staff across departments, customers, escrow/title personnel, attorneys, and external professionals, and determines methods and procedures for new assignments. Responsibilities: Perform loan servicing activities such as general loan maintenance, processing loan payments, data entry, loan document creation, lien perfection, escrow/tax support, flood review, and general ledger reconciliation. Handle the transaction and processing of moderate to complex consumer, small business, SBA and commercial/business loan products and required documentation in accordance with the organization’s workflow and regulatory, policy and procedural practices. Provide outstanding service and timely response to internal and external customer requests. Capture metrics to assist leadership in coordinating and adjusting workflow. Participate in continuous improvement efforts and contribute to workflow improvements. Execute work accurately and within assigned deadlines, communicating work status to enable redistribution of incomplete work. Assist with training others and cross‑train to support Loan Support Services. Maintain compliance with all bank regulations, policies, and procedures, including ongoing education about regulatory changes. Complete required annual or job‑specific training and follow all bank policies. Apply knowledge of statutes such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and bank security regulations relevant to the job. Teach or mentor others as subject‑matter expert when asked. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED (Required). Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field (Preferred). 1–2 years of consumer, SBA or commercial/ business loan experience (Required). Working knowledge of relevant loan products, services, and documentation including loan regulations, policies and procedures. Excellent multitasking, adaptability to frequent workflow changes and problem‑solving skills. Strong math and analytical capabilities. Solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to communicate across all organization levels. Proficiency using computer software such as Word and Excel, loan servicing systems and other office equipment. Ability to thrive in a high‑volume, service‑oriented environment with critical deadlines. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Job Location(s): Position is fully onsite at the posted location(s). Candidate must be able to work onsite. Compensation: The hourly pay range for this role is $18.00 – $26.00.
