Wright-Hennepin is seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to support our Financial Services team and help ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. Compensation $83,500 – $115,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications) plus annual bonus potential Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance HSA with employer contribution + FSA options Life and disability insurance Paid time off and holidays Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and wellness resources Location Rockford, MN (on-site) What You’ll Do In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting Wright-Hennepin’s financial operations while contributing to accurate, timely reporting and continuous improvement efforts. Prepare monthly financial statements, including supporting reports, variance analysis, and narratives Facilitate the development of annual budgets and ongoing forecasts, including detailed financial reporting and analysis Own the preparation and submission of Form 7 and other required external regulatory filings Contribute to month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit requests in a timely and accurate manner Review expenditures to ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures Research and apply accounting guidance to ensure compliance with current standards and best practices Collaborate across departments to provide financial insights and support business needs Identify opportunities to improve processes by leveraging technology and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy Maintain clear documentation of processes and procedures, including use of tools such as Scribe or other AI-supported solutions Provide backup support for accounts payable and other accounting functions as needed Other Duties (10%) Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Requirements What We’re Looking For Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required Minimum of five to seven years of accounting or finance experience Well versed in GAAP accounting; RUS and/or FERC accounting knowledge is a plus Budgeting and capital expenditure planning experience Electric cooperative experience preferred Wholly owned subsidiary or holding company knowledge preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Cash/debt management knowledge Long range forecasting and projection skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to function well in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment Extensive knowledge of accounting/finance concepts and principles Ability to analyze and interpret financial data Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting and financial software What Success Looks Like at Wright-Hennepin Wright-Hennepin employees are expected to demonstrate strong personal accountability and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment by embodying the following: Integrity – Builds trust, honors commitments, and supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values Safety – Prioritizes safe work practices and protects employee and member well-being Member/Customer Focus – Delivers responsive, respectful, and effective service Teamwork – Collaborates effectively and supports team and organizational goals Dependability – Takes ownership, meets expectations, and maintains reliability Performance – Produces high-quality work, continuously develops skills, and proactively solves problems #J-18808-Ljbffr Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association
