Clinical Dietician

This role involves providing essential dietary and nutritional support to incarcerated individuals and patients through individualized consultation, assessment and follow up care. Key responsibilities include: Recommend modified diets, snacks and other dietary accommodations based on medical indications. Provide nutritional education for diabetes, hyperlipidemia, weight management, hypertension, and other nutrition related topics. Serve as a liaison between the Iowa Medical and Classification Center (IMCC) Dietary and Health Services Department. Complete nutrition assessments for all new admissions to the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital within the allotted time frame and audit patient meal trays monthly to ensure compliance with dietary guidelines. The role requires Licensure and Registration as a Clinical Dietician, strong communication skills to collaborate with multiple departments, patients and incarcerated individuals and the ability to document all dietetic and nutrition related encounters and audit findings accurately.E-Verify and Right to Work The State of Iowa participates in E-Verify, a federal program that helps employers confirm the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees.
