Job Summary

Th e Production Machinist is responsible for setting up machines, checking products, and ensuring production items run efficiently through machining areas with quality and quantity standards that meet company requirements. This role may also include responsibilities such as non-destructive testing, cell support, mass finishing, injection molding, and polishing. The machinist plays a vital role in maintaining precision, safety, and productivity in the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

1. S et up machines including lathes, mills, or machining centers for product manufacturing
2. Perform quality checks to ensure products meet company standards
3. Participate in process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity
4. Record production data through DPI terminals and maintain count cards
5. Support cell operations and perform additional responsibilities as needed

Required Skills

1. Wo rking knowledge of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, comparators, and indicators
2. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds repeatedly
3. Strong teamwork skills and ability to work in a cellular environment
4. Demonstrated ability to perform machine setup

Education & Experience

• Hig h School diploma required
• Minimum of 2 years of machining experience on CNC lathes and/or mills
• Alternatively, completion of four semesters of vocational or high school machine shop training plus 1 year of CNC exp erience

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with non-destructive testing, mass finishing, injection molding, or polishing
2. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with continuous improvement init iatives
