Our final core value is making every minute count , driving performance and efficiency. Mission of Dental Assistant The Dental Assistant reports to the Practice Administrator. The mission of the Dental Assistant is to help facilitate parent and patient understanding of the treatment needed as well assisting the doctor with chair side dental procedures. The Dental Assistant is accountable for creating a relationship with parents and patients, assisting the doctor to increase doctor production. The Dental Assistant must be knowledgeable about dentistry and be able to work with the doctor in a wider variety of dental procedures. The Pediatric Dental Assistant must become credentialed at the hospital where our Pediatric Dentist goes. Key Performance Indicators Doctor production Same day procedures Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Education Patient Comfort: Greet and seat patients, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment. Information Updates: Accurately update health histories, take vital signs, and capture X-rays. Patient Education: Instruct patients on upcoming procedures and proper at-home oral care. Clinical Assistance Treatment Preparation: Prepare both the patient and the operatory before the dentist enters. Chairside Assisting: Assist the dentist across a wide variety of dental procedures. Expanded Functions: Perform allowed independent duties, including seating crowns, adjusting dentures, and applying fluoride. Hospital Cases: Accompany and assist the clinical team during General Anesthesia cases at the hospital. Lab & Sterilization Impression Work: Take clinical impressions, pour models, and handle basic laboratory tasks. Infection Control: Sanitize treatment rooms between patients and follow strict sterilization protocols for instruments. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on clinical equipment to ensure proper functioning. Office & Inventory Support Inventory Management: Follow established processes for ordering, tracking, and restocking clinical supplies.
