Garage Door Technician

Job Summary As a Garage Door Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial garage doors and related systems. You’ll work directly with customers, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high-quality service using our ServiceTitan CRM to manage appointments and track jobs. This role requires technical expertise, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work independently in the field. Key Responsibilities Installation: Install new garage doors, openers, and related components according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Repairs: Diagnose and repair garage door systems, including springs, cables, rollers, and openers. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of garage door systems. Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers, explain issues, and provide solutions while maintaining professionalism. Documentation: Use ServiceTitan CRM to log job details, update work orders, and communicate with the office team. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment for yourself and customers. Inventory Management: Maintain tools, equipment, and parts inventory in company vehicles. Requirements Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in garage door installation, repair, or a related field (e.g., carpentry, electrical, or general construction). Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is a plus. Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs), climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions. Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to meet customer needs. Location: Must reside in or be willing to commute to Southeast PA. Desired Skills Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with garage door systems, openers, and tools; basic electrical knowledge and commercial door experience is a plus. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Customer Service: Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients. Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using mobile apps or CRM systems like ServiceTitan for job management. Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with team members and coordinate with office staff.
