Risk Manager

Overview Hiring salary is dependent upon experience. The hiring range is $116,101 - $129,001 annually. Join our dynamic team as a Risk Manager and play a pivotal role in enhancing the safety and well‑being of our City. In this key position, you will lead and manage our comprehensive risk management program, overseeing liability and property claims while collaborating with insurers to ensure our projects are safeguarded. You will develop and implement innovative safety and loss control programs, conduct thorough reviews of City contracts, and manage workers’ compensation effectively. As the subject‑matter expert, you will provide vital guidance to department leaders and staff on risk management strategies and on crafting and revising policies that protect our community. Responsibilities Lead and manage the risk management program. Oversee liability and property claims. Collaborate with insurers to protect projects. Develop and implement safety and loss control programs. Conduct thorough reviews of City contracts. Manage workers’ compensation. Provide guidance to department leaders and staff on risk management strategies and policies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management, the social sciences, public administration, or related program and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in managing risk management functions that includes at least two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role. Associate degree in business administration or management, the social sciences, public administration, or related program and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in managing risk management functions that includes at least two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role. High school diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in managing risk management functions that includes at least two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role. Preferred but not required: Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property Causality Underwriter (CPCU), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
