The Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions. This position is primarily responsible for General and Vascular ultrasound imaging, with Echocardiography experience preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, excellent patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced healthcare environment while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*** Perform high quality General and Vascular ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.* Perform Echocardiography examinations when qualified and as needed.* Obtain and evaluate diagnostic images to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality prior to physician interpretation.* Review patient history and clinical information to optimize examination quality and support accurate diagnoses.* Explain procedures to patients, address questions, and provide compassionate care throughout the examination process.* Position and prepare patients for imaging procedures while ensuring comfort, privacy, and safety.* Recognize and document significant findings and communicate urgent concerns to the appropriate provider in accordance with departmental procedures.* Accurately document patient information, examination details, and imaging results within the electronic medical record and PACS systems.* Maintain ultrasound equipment and imaging rooms to ensure cleanliness, operational readiness, and compliance with safety standards.**COMPENSATION:** $29.00-$45.00 per hour**SCHEDULE:**Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., four days per week, with alternating Wednesdays and Fridays off.**BENEFITS*** 403(b) Retirement Plan* Dental Insurance Plan* Vision Insurance Plan* Short and Long Term Disability Insurance* Voluntary Life Insurance Plan* Paid Time Off (Vacation/Sick/Illinois Paid Leave/Holiday)* Flexible Work Schedules* Professional Development Opportunities**WHAT FMH HAS TO OFFER** Fairfield Memorial Hospital is a mission focused healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional care to the patients and families we serve, with a strong commitment to improving the health and well‐being of our community through compassionate service, clinical excellence, and a supportive culture that empowers employees to do their best work. We proudly uphold Equal Opportunity Employment practices and welcome applicants of all backgrounds without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or veteran status.## Qualifications**EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS*** **Required:** Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program; Advanced registry through RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or equivalent credential; CPR/BLS certification; Ability to perform General and Vascular ultrasound examinations; Highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.* **Preferred:** Echocardiography experience and/or registry; RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist), RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer), Additional specialty ultrasound registries and certifications.**EXPERIENCE*** **Required:** Knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound principles, patient positioning, image acquisition, and quality assurance practices.* **Preferred:** One to two years of Diagnostic Medical Sonography experience and/or training; Experience performing General and Vascular ultrasound examinations; Echocardiography experience preferred.**SKILLS*** Proficiency in General and Vascular ultrasound imaging techniques.* Strong patient assessment and communication skills.* Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.* Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities.* Ability to assess clinical information and exercise sound judgment during examinations.* Excellent organizational and time management skills.* Ability to function effectively under stressful conditions.* Commitment to exceptional customer service and patient centered care.* Proficiency with PACS, EMR systems, and healthcare technology.* Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative healthcare team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
