A growing Michigan-based law firm is seeking a Controller to own the financial discipline that supports continued growth and operational excellence. What You’ll Own Lead the monthly close process and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting Own cash flow management, forecasting, and financial planning Prepare and lead weekly financial review meetings with leadership Manage and develop the Billing and Collections team Drive financial analysis and operational reporting that supports strategic decision-making Build scalable financial systems, SOPs, and reporting processes Maintain trust accounting integrity and compliance standards Partner closely with executive leadership on growth strategy and financial operations What We’re Looking For 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience Previous Controller or senior accounting leadership experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance CPA or CMA strongly preferred Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail Comfortable leading teams and developing talent Systems-oriented thinker who enjoys improving processes Excellent communication and leadership skills Experience in legal industry accounting and trust accounting is strongly preferred High level of professionalism and confidentiality Who Will Thrive Here Someone who wants more than a traditional back-office accounting role A leader who enjoys collaboration with executive teams A builder who likes creating scalable systems and processes A finance professional who sees accounting as a strategic business partner, not just compliance Someone motivated by meaningful work and organizational impact Why This Opportunity Stands Out This is a chance to step into a visible leadership role within a growing organization where finance plays a critical role in operational success.
