These engineers have a keen eye for detail and complex physics that enable successful performance of Starship's engines. If you possess an affinity for physics, structural mechanics, advanced computing, and unraveling intricate challenges while working with engine hardware, this Chamber and Nozzle focused role may be for you!RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct, document, and present static, thermal, dynamic, and fatigue analyses for Raptor Chamber and Nozzle through FEA and first principles to ensure performance requirements are metOutput requirements and capabilities for engine/stage interfaces for all phases of flightCollaborate in driving necessary analyses throughout engine component design cyclesEnsure model predictions are grounded in reality through a practical hands-on approachWork closely with hardware and test teams to drive model anchoring and design improvementsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline1+ years of experience in structural analysis, design, or manufacturing through extracurricular, internship, or full-time experiencePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Proficient in statics, mechanics of materials, fatigue, dynamics, and/or heat transferExperience with FEA setup and post-processingAble to perform hand-calculations to validate and improve modelsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAble to deliver on scheduleADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Willing to work extended hours and weekends as neededCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay range: Propulsion Analyst/Level I: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00/per yearPropulsion Analyst/Level II: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00/per yearYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
