Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Summary As our Clinical Lab Scientist, you will be a critical diagnostic expert performing complex laboratory tests to ensure accurate, timely results vital for patient diagnosis and treatment. Every day you will execute a wide range of analytical procedures across various lab disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.), analyze specimens, operate and maintain instruments, interpret results, and conduct quality control, providing crucial data for clinical decisions. Responsibilities Demonstrated experience with laboratory instrumentation and methodologies across various departments (e.g., Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunohematology). Proficiency in performing complex laboratory tests, analyzing results, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Strong understanding of quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory safety protocols. Excellent critical thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment, both independently and as part of a team. Job Requirements Minimum one year of experience in an acute care facility. Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA. Appropriately trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory. California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) required. A current Los Angeles County fire card is required. Location Founded in 1955, Dignity Health – Northridge Hospital Medical Center is a 394‑bed, acute‑care, nonprofit hospital located in Los Angeles County. It serves over 80,000 patients annually and offers a full complement of services including a Level II Trauma Center, heart care, cancer care, and women’s health. It is the only pediatric trauma center in the San Fernando Valley. The hospital has been recognized as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
