About the Role The Plant Controller provides analytical and strategic support for all accounting and finance activities, including month-end close, payroll, receivables, payables, and operational performance metrics such as productivity, labor efficiency, and throughput. This role partners closely with the Plant Manager and Senior Leadership to drive financial performance and operational excellence. Responsibilities Oversee all plant financial functions including month-end close, variance analysis, product profitability, and required reporting to the parent company and regulatory agencies. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and capital investments to meet organizational needs. Partner with Plant Manager to support strategic planning, stakeholder relationships, and contract negotiations. Provide analysis of production activities such as raw material, labor, and equipment efficiencies delivering actionable insights to operations teams. Manage insurance, tax, and audit requirements, coordinate with external auditors and third-party providers. Serve as trustee for the organization's Savings and Retirement Plan and oversee administration and financial reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Active CPA or similar certification preferred. 7-10 years of progressive financial management experience, ideally within a manufacturing or operations environment of 100+ employees. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting. Proficient in Microsoft EXCEL, with the ability to extract and analyze data from ERP systems. Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Ability to supervise staff and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
