Network Engineer

Data Networking Implement & Maintenance O FALLON, MO – Onsite Contract Rate $50/hr Description Design and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network flows. Support IP movement, routing, failover, traffic draining, and recovery. Analyze TCP connection and socket behavior during maintenance and failure scenarios. Perform packet-level diagnostics and root-cause analysis. Partner with proxy developers on stateful traffic movement and connection preservation. Participate in integration, performance, resiliency, and production-readiness testing. Required skills : Strong hands-on Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking. TCP/IP, socket behavior, routing, ARP/GARP, VLANs, NAT, and high-availability patterns. Linux networking and troubleshooting systems. Wireshark, tcpdump, or equivalent packet-analysis tools. Practical experience with resilient or active-active network services. Preferred experience: Fortinet, Cisco, F5, HA Proxy, NGINX, Envoy, or similar technologies. Financial transaction, telecom, network-appliance, or other mission-critical environments. Linux kernel networking, eBPF, or low-level network diagnostics.
