Experienced Attorney - Environmental Law

Overview A law firm seeks a highly experienced environmental attorney to join its team in Uniondale, NY. This role offers a hybrid work opportunity and involves advising clients on environmental regulatory compliance and commercial real estate transactions. The attorney will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support large-scale development projects. Responsibilities Advise clients on federal and state environmental regulations. Represent clients in environmental permitting and compliance matters. Structure and negotiate complex real estate transactions. Lead environmental due diligence for M&A and project finance. Draft and negotiate environmental provisions in agreements. Manage permitting processes for various infrastructure projects. Support remediation and risk mitigation strategies. Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate environmental risks. Review and assess third-party environmental reports. Counsel on compliance with environmental and land use laws. Analyze title and survey documents for environmental restrictions. Offer strategic insight on energy transition initiatives. Collaborate on real estate, energy, and infrastructure projects. Requirements Minimum of 8 years of experience in U.S. environmental law. Admission to New York State Bar; other states beneficial. Experience with federal and state permitting and compliance. Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams. Strong understanding of environmental risk and legal frameworks. Portable book of business is a plus. Education Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school. Certifications Admission to New York State Bar. Skills Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex contracts. Proficiency in analyzing technical environmental data. Ability to manage legal timelines and coordinate with agencies. Familiarity with carbon-related legal frameworks.
