Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the Neuro Interventional Radiology (IR) unit will be a member of the Stroke Team, providing specialized care for stroke patients and assisting in interventional procedures. ICU experience is required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to stroke patients as part of the Neuro IR Stroke Team
- Manage endotracheal and tracheostomy ventilations
- Administer vasoactive and sedation drips
- Safely use paralytics
- Setup, troubleshoot, and use arterial lines and external ventricular drains
- Monitor and recover arterial puncture sites
Requirements:
- Completion of an approved nursing education program
- Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
- ICU experience required
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with Swan/Cordis central line catheter and external pacemakers
- Proficiency in using EPIC charting system
