LOCATION: 692 Blake Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11207 SALARY: $22 / hour (Non – Exempt) JOB SUMMARY: The Community Ambassador is a key player in the Community Partnership Program, a local coalition that links people and resources in East New York, Brooklyn, NY. This role is all about building strong connections, organizing community events, and fostering a shared vision where all families can thrive.

MAJOR DUTIES:

Community Engagement & Outreach Serve as an ambassador for the Community Partnership Program by building positive relationships with residents, community partners, schools, faith-based organizations, and local stakeholders. Conduct outreach and engagement activities to promote community programs, services, events, and initiatives. Encourage resident participation in coalition activities, workshops, community meetings, and special events. Connect community members with available resources and services that support family and community well-being. Represent the Community Partnership Program at neighborhood events, resource fairs, and outreach activities. Event Coordination & Support Assist with planning, coordination, setup, and breakdown of community events, workshops, meetings, and special activities. Staff information and resource tables at community events and outreach opportunities. Collect participant information through sign-in sheets, surveys, and other engagement tools. Distribute program materials, community resources, and promotional information to residents and partners. Support coalition meetings and community engagement activities as assigned. Food Pantry Operations Support monthly food pantry distributions and related community food access initiatives. Assist with food pickup coordination, inventory management, supply tracking, and pantry organization. Prepare participant registration materials and maintain accurate attendance and distribution records. Help ensure pantry operations are welcoming, organized, and responsive to community needs. Complete and submit required pantry-related documentation and reports in a timely manner. Administrative Support Maintain organized records, files, sign-in sheets, outreach logs, and program documentation. Assist with data collection and reporting related to community engagement and program activities. Track outreach materials, event supplies, and program resources. Support program operations through administrative and logistical assistance as needed. Collaboration & Professional Development Participate in coalition meetings, community planning activities, and partnership-building efforts. Attend required trainings and professional development opportunities to strengthen knowledge of community resources and engagement practices. Collaborate effectively with program staff, residents, volunteers, and community partners. Support the overall efforts of the Program Director and Community Partnership Program team by performing other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in community outreach, customer service, resident engagement, social services, education, public health, or a related field preferred. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends. Ability to lift and move supplies, outreach materials, and event equipment as needed. PREFERRED QUALITIES Passion for community engagement and neighborhood improvement. Strong relationship-building skills. Friendly, welcoming, and professional demeanor.
