Diesel MechanicA well-established waste and recycling company in the Milwaukie area is hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic to support a fleet of garbage trucks and heavy equipment. This is a stable, long-term opportunity with competitive pay, full benefits, and flexible scheduling.ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and driveline componentsPerform maintenance and repairs on garbage trucks and refuse equipmentTroubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems (packers, cylinders, etc.)Complete preventative maintenance inspections (PMs)Repair brakes, suspension, and electrical systemsMaintain accurate work orders and documentationFollow safety procedures and shop standardsQualifications2+ years of diesel mechanic experience (heavy trucks or equipment preferred)Experience with refuse equipment is a plusStrong diagnostic and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and manage workloadValid driver's license (CDL is a plus, not required)Own basic tools (specialty tools may be provided)Compensation & Benefits$30 – $40/hour depending on experienceMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysPerformance-based bonusesFlexible scheduling optionsWhy This RoleConsistent, year-round workFlexible schedule optionsVariety of equipment and hands-on workOpportunity for long-term growth with an established company
