Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer

Job Summary Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer – Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer with 13+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database development and strong experience in COBOL and mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate should have expertise in designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting complex enterprise applications, including legacy system modernization and integration between COBOL/Mainframe and Oracle-based applications. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL applications. Develop and optimize stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and views. Write and tune complex SQL queries for high-performance database applications. Analyze and resolve database performance and production issues. Work extensively with COBOL programs and Mainframe applications. Support and enhance legacy COBOL applications and integrate them with modern Oracle-based systems. Participate in data migration, ETL, and system modernization projects. Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, QA teams, and cross-functional stakeholders. Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices. Provide production support, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution. Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership when required. Required Skills 13+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL Development Strong expertise in: Oracle SQL and PL/SQL Stored Procedures, Packages, Functions, Triggers Performance Tuning and Query Optimization Oracle Database Development Strong hands-on experience with COBOL programming. Experience working with Mainframe technologies. Knowledge of JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM is highly preferred. Experience with ETL, data migration, and data integration. Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, and production support processes. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or other large enterprise environments. Experience with legacy system modernization and migration from Mainframe/COBOL to Oracle or modern platforms.
