Step into an impactful teaching role supporting middle school students through their unique educational journeys. This position focuses on 7th graders, working closely with a caseload of 10 students having a range of disabilities in a cross-categorical setting. You'll collaborate alongside a dedicated team of eight other special education teachers, ensuring a supportive and resource-rich environment.
Your expertise will make a difference as you navigate the needs of diverse learners, with a few IEPs scheduled throughout your contract. Flexibility, compassion, and a commitment to individualized instruction are key as you meet students where they are and help them achieve their goals.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (required)
- Previous experience working with cross-categorical classrooms and middle school learners preferred
- Familiarity with conducting and managing IEPs
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with colleagues and engagement with families
- Ability to implement a range of instructional strategies tailored to students’ unique needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to 7th grade students with a variety of disabilities
- Manage and update IEPs as needed, ensuring compliance and implementation of outlined supports
- Collaborate daily with the special education teaching team to develop cohesive strategies and share resources
- Communicate with families and related service providers to support student success
- Document student progress and maintain detailed records
