SUMMARY

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Assistant MEP Superintendent to coordinate and supervise Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) trade contractors and craft team members. The role requires interacting with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment while demonstrating flexibility, resourcefulness, and a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Aptitude for anticipating problems and creatively problem‑solving is essential, as is strong written and verbal communication with equal attention to detail. RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage project labor, including craft labor and subcontractors Monitor and address issues within weekly labor reports Review and approve craft worker certifications and training for specialty roles Participate in site orientation training, first‑hour orientation, and site safety meetings Coordinate review and approval of craft worker timecards Participate in hire and dismissal processes of craft workers Coordinate on‑site operations and Scope of Work (equipment, labor, schedule) Provide guidance on set‑up, work in‑place, and project closeout/demobilization activities Support and collaborate with Project Managers on schedule development and updates Coordinate with equipment facilities and outside equipment providers for project equipment (e.g., cranes, trailers, trucks, Conexus) Review and verify quantity takeoffs and materials management processes during the buyout for specific scopes of work Manage scope(s) of work Production and Innovation Boards Manage scope(s) of work Plan of Day (POD) activities Support Safety Manager and/or Engineer with site safety audits, worker‑to‑worker observations, etc. Manage quality control of self‑perform and subcontractors’ work Oversee orientation, training, and timely performance evaluation of craft workers, including performance management processes if necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience Completion of or interest in a Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice electrician program preferred Minimum five years of construction supervision or related experience Minimum five years of construction management or related experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor Electrical circuitry qualified or ability to be qualified by Mortenson Electrical Managers, if necessary Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects Organize and manage multiple project tasks Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web applications Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies Current driver’s license

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this role is $95,700 minimum – $129,200 maximum. Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%. Base pay is positioned within the range based on an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position. Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
