Job Overview

Elite Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team in Homewood, Alabama. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will assist in providing high-quality therapy services to residents in our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who is passionate about helping patients improve mobility, restore function, and enhance their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, balance activities, and mobility interventions.
• Assist residents in achieving rehabilitation goals and maximizing functional independence.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and report progress, concerns, or changes in condition to the Physical Therapist.
• Accurately document treatment sessions, patient progress, and outcomes in accordance with facility, state, and federal guidelines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on prescribed exercises, safety techniques, and ongoing therapeutic recommendations.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment while delivering exceptional patient care.
• Comply with all facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Alabama.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
