This position involves analyzing, investigating, containing, and responding to cybersecurity alerts. Primary responsibilities will require: (i) in-depth analysis of intrusions in diverse computing environments; (ii) thorough packet analyses; (iii) implementing/optimizing changes to security infrastructure; (iv) integrating threat intelligence into the operational environment; and (v) protecting systems and infrastructure from infiltration or exfiltration of data.Perform analyses of network infrastructure, applications, operating systems, firewalls, proxy devices and malware detection in a fast-paced environmentProactively identify threats across a wide range of customer environmentsMonitor alerts using a SIEM platform to respond, triage and escalate incidents, as necessaryPerform vulnerability scans, analyze results and recommend remediation actionsPerform continuous monitoring of diverse security environments and analyze event log data to determine severity and prioritization of incident response effortsContribute to the advancement of security postureMinimum Requirements2 years of operational experience with securing and monitoring multiple platforms, network configurations and implementationsBroad knowledge of IT securityGeneral systems infrastructure experienceExperience with log correlation and packet analysis toolsSolid understanding of common enterprise information systems services such as Active DirectorySolid understanding of TCP/IP protocol suite, security architecture and security techniques/productsExperience with various security management tools (e.g., vulnerability management, configuration management and SIEM)Proven ability to analyze captured data to perform incident response and identify potential compromisesExcellent written and oral communication skillsPreferred Education and CertificationsB.A or B.S in computer science or related fieldCompTia Sec+CompTia CySa+Required Skills SectionProven experience in thoroughly conducting cyber security investigationsSolid understanding of threat intelligence, malware analysis, and network security conceptsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressureCommunicate concisely with diversified stakeholders and engineering teams using clear data pointsHands on experience with SIEM and familiarity with a diversified set of security tools and investigation supporting data setsProven understanding of security and privacy fundamentalsFamiliarity with compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, ISO 27001, SOC2, HIPAA, FERPA, and PCIStrong organizational skills are a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsA collaborative outlook that seeks to build and cultivate relationshipsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment$75,000 - $90,000 a year UltraViolet Cyber maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect our company's differing products, services, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors.
