Warehouse Driver / Delivery Driver And Warehouse Associate

We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Warehouse Driver / Delivery Driver and Warehouse Associate to support both regional deliveries and daily warehouse operations. You will deliver products throughout the Bay Area using company-owned refrigerated vehicles and, when not on the road, ensure materials and inventory are accurately received, stored, kitted, and prepared for production and shipment. This role blends driving, material handling, inventory management, and close collaboration with production and quality teams in a fast-growing, small-team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver customer orders using company delivery vehicles while following all standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Operate refrigerated delivery vehicles, including cargo vans with freezer units and reefer box trucks, to complete scheduled delivery routes across the Bay Area.
• Load, unload, and securely stage products for transport, ensuring items are protected and properly handled throughout the delivery process.
• Verify shipment accuracy before departure and upon delivery, confirming that products arrive in excellent condition and match customer orders.
• Maintain timely communication regarding delivery status, delays, and any issues encountered on routes.
• Support warehouse operations when not driving by assisting with order preparation, packing, and general warehouse organization.
• Pick materials from the warehouse and deliver them to the manufacturing floor as you become more familiar with products and processes.
• Navigate and resolve system challenges or errors that occur during material picking and inventory transactions.
• Reference the manufacturing calendar to align material picking and kitting activities with upcoming production needs, while remaining flexible for unexpected tasks.
• Communicate regularly with the manufacturing and production teams through shared communication tools to ensure alignment on priorities.
• Manage incoming requests via communication platforms or email in a timely and organized manner.
• Use a laptop and warehouse computer to access the ERP system and related tools required for inventory and order management.
• Download and use approved mobile applications on your phone to stay connected and responsive throughout the day.
• Follow quality assurance processes when receiving materials to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
• Understand and respect that quality assurance may place new items on hold for testing and ensure these items are properly segregated.
• Assist in receiving incoming shipments, verifying documentation, and putting materials away according to the ERP system and storage standards.
• Perform consistent inventory checks and cycle counts to maintain accurate warehouse stock levels and identify discrepancies.
• Oversee or support the kitting process by preparing supplies according to the Bill of Materials (BOM) for upcoming production runs.
• Place materials in the correct storage locations so inventory remains organized, clearly labeled, and easy to find.
• Move, transport, and distribute approved GMP raw materials, supplies, and components to designated areas as needed.
• Assist with shipping small packages, including packaging items, printing labels, and preparing shipments such as samples.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse environment, including adherence to lot tracking and quarantine procedures.
• Follow all applicable safety, food safety, and company compliance requirements while driving and working in the warehouse.
• Work collaboratively with production and quality teams, providing clear and proactive communication about inventory status, material availability, and any issues that arise.
• Take ownership of tasks, remain calm under pressure, and help ensure daily warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Essential Skills

• Valid California drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a warehouse or laboratory setting.
• Previous delivery driving experience preferred, with familiarity operating cargo vans and box trucks.
• Forklift experience required, including operation of stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, and walking stackers.
• Solid understanding of inventory management best practices, including stock rotation, lot tracking, and cycle counting.
• Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a strong plus.
• Ability to use a computer comfortably, including ERP systems, email, collaborative tools, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift, move, and transport products and materials throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety in both driving and warehouse activities.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities.
• Customer service orientation, with a focus on clear communication and professional interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Cross-functional communication skills to collaborate effectively with production, quality, and other teams.
• Technological savvy and comfort adopting new digital tools and systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Warehouse experience beyond the minimum requirement, including material handling, picking, packing, and shipping and receiving.
• Experience in a GMP or regulated environment handling raw materials, components, and supplies.
• Knowledge of QA processes for receiving materials and managing quarantine or hold statuses.
• Familiarity with cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and warehouse inventory control.
• Experience supporting production environments, including kitting materials according to a Bill of Materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Smartsheet for tracking and communication.
• Comfort using mobile applications and communication tools to stay connected with the team throughout the day.
• Customer service experience, particularly in roles involving delivery routes or client-facing interactions.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-growing organization and small-team setting where responsibilities may evolve.

Work Environment

You will work primarily in a warehouse environment alongside two other team members, with significant responsibility due to the small team structure. The role follows a typical shift starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending around 4:30 p.m., with occasional flexibility of up to an additional hour per day as needed. The warehouse supports refrigerated operations, and you will use company-owned refrigerated vehicles, including a cargo van with a freezer unit and a reefer box truck, for deliveries throughout the Bay Area. Daily work involves operating various types of forkliftsstand-up, sit-down, and walking stackersas well as handling GMP raw materials, components, and supplies. You will regularly use a laptop, a dedicated warehouse computer, and mobile applications to access the ERP system, communication tools, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Office. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety, food safety, quality, and compliance requirements. You will collaborate closely with production and quality teams, manage materials for the manufacturing floor, and work in a setting that can be fast-paced and dynamic, requiring focus, adaptability, and teamwork.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Emeryville, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
