POSITION: Kitchen Assistant and Event Coordinator DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage LOCATION: Casino Resort Kitchen and Event Center SUPERVISOR: Food and Beverage Director EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time PAY RATE: $15.00 - $19.50 (Non-Exempt) D.O.E. POSTED: July 18, 2025 DEADLINE: August 1, 2025 Description: Assist Kitchen Manager with daily kitchen operations including ordering, inventory, prep, scheduling, and organization of all kitchen food areas. Support customer and employee operations in the Event Center. Handle banquet inquiries and coordinate activities with relevant departments. Create and manage BOEs for Event Center and Catering events. Primary Responsibilities: Respond to inquiries about banquets and events. Submit weekly group booking schedules to relevant departments. Conduct weekly meetings with the Food & Beverage Director and Hotel Manager. Maintain contact with incoming groups and develop follow-up plans. Communicate event details daily or in weekly BOE meetings. Create layouts and floor plans for upcoming events. Provide room blocks and assist guests at check-in and check-out. Collaborate with departments to plan future events. Oversee and manage events from start to finish, including staff scheduling. Assist with prep work, including cooking and baking, as assigned. Assist with food ordering and inventory control. Develop and implement new food and beverage offerings in collaboration with management. Provide excellent guest service through active engagement and a positive attitude. Perform other duties as assigned, including flexible scheduling and attending training to comply with policies. Skills & Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED 1+ year experience in marketing, event planning, or both 1+ year experience in kitchen prep and cooking Effective communication skills (oral and written) Ability to work independently and in a team Basic computer skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic math and reading skills ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 90 days Willingness to pass background and pre-employment screenings Preferred Qualifications: Experience or education in business management or supervision Experience in a casino setting 3+ years in kitchen preparation, cooking, and baking Physical Requirements: Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 90%) Reach, bend, stoop, lift to 40 pounds Maintain high standards of hygiene and grooming Work in environments with smoke and noise The above describes the general nature of the work.
